MORGAN HILL , California (1996) —-American Predator Corporation (APC) has released the preliminary design of the Hunter hyperCache Plus™. The Hunter hyperCache Plus is a high performance Intel® Pentium® processor based industrial motherboard that combines PCI and ISA interfaces.

It features two major implementations for industrial applications. The first is an on-board 2 digit seven-segment LED display for self-diagnostics and custom applications. The other is the watchdog timer, a CPU monitoring device for automatic system resetting in the event of a time-out. Also, the Hunter hyperCache Plus introduces the latest USB technology. The Hunter hyperCache Plus can be configured to accommodate all CPU speeds up to 400MHz and MMX™ technology, using any of the following specific microprocessors:

  • Intel® Pentium® processor with MMX™ Technology
  • AMD™ K5, K6
  • Cyrix™ 6×86 (M1)
  • IBM™ (MX)
  • IDT™

It offers up to a total of 14 ISA and 4 PCI slots through easy connectivity to the APC Active Backplane™, a slot extension backplane that features a choice of its own power connector and a dedicated CPU slot for ultimate signal reliability. It can be stand alone or segmented and has Baby-AT mounting holes for easy and universal fitting.
